Our mission is to promote outdoor recreation and community service opportunities within the Person County park, lake and trail systems, designed to enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of our residents and visitors.

Friends of the parks is a non-profit, 501c3, subcommittee of the Person County Recreation Advisory Board.

Did you know?

  • All of our parks have playgrounds and ball fields

  • Several parks have paved shared paths ready to help you achieve your exercise goals. Bicycles, strollers, rollerblades and other wheels are welcome to share the path.

  • Picnic shelters are available for rent at select parks for your family parties

  • Mayo Park offers year-round camping, water activities, hiking trails, eight picnic shelters for rent along with a large community building

  • The Rock Athletic Complex has five ball fields and is home to Person County Little League.

  • Leashed pets are welcome at the parks

  • Water fountains and restroom facilities are available so you can enjoy the park all day long

  • Opening in 2025 Rotary Club of Roxboro Centennial Park, a 281 acre regional park for hiking, mountain biking, and day activities
