Our mission is to promote outdoor recreation and community service opportunities within the Person County park, lake and trail systems, designed to enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of our residents and visitors.
Friends of the parks is a non-profit, 501c3, subcommittee of the Person County Recreation Advisory Board.

Did you know?
All of our parks have playgrounds and ball fields
Several parks have paved shared paths ready to help you achieve your exercise goals. Bicycles, strollers, rollerblades and other wheels are welcome to share the path.
Picnic shelters are available for rent at select parks for your family parties
Mayo Park offers year-round camping, water activities, hiking trails, eight picnic shelters for rent along with a large community building
The Rock Athletic Complex has five ball fields and is home to Person County Little League.
Leashed pets are welcome at the parks
Water fountains and restroom facilities are available so you can enjoy the park all day long
Opening in 2025 Rotary Club of Roxboro Centennial Park, a 281 acre regional park for hiking, mountain biking, and day activities
